Yep, I just stripped out my username for purposes of posting here. Within terminal, I'm running it as "ruby sifttter.rb" - is that correct? (Sorry for the n00b question!)

Thanks so much for the quick reply! I tried something similar before posting here yesterday but didn't have much success. I just double-checked using your code:

files = %x{mdfind -onlyin /Users/USERNAME/Dropbox\ \(Personal\)/ifttt/sifttter -name '.txt'

If I don't update the folder location (line 67), I don't get any errors when executing the script but the Day One entry is never generated. But updating the folder location, above, gives this error in Terminal:

I'll keep poking around and post here if I find a fix. Thanks again!

I love this script but I'm having some trouble because of my Dropbox path name. I also use Dropbox for business and thus my local folder is configured as "Dropbox (Personal)" and I can't rename it. But Terminal gives me errors because of the parentheses — any way around it?

i also hate cases.. but when i bought my iphone i did get a leather slide-in case by case-mate, but only for when mahPhone is in the purse. anytime i take it out i slide it out of the case to use it, but i have so much crap crammed in my purse, just not a safe place.

as far as screen protector-ish things like the one you're considering, i figure, they won't protect the phone from any serious kind of damage (i.e. my clumsy hands dropping it), and from what i hear the screen itself is designed to be fairly resistant to scratches. the iphone is just too pretty to hide away in a case!
