That's exactly the kind of thing that makes an artist popular while driving other musicians/producers crazy.

Re: Deadmau5 demonstrates his modular

Which track is that? Certainly the prop helps now (not to mention the major label backing), but it took talent, determination and networking to get to that point. Probably more than a little dumb luck as well.

Re: Deadmau5 demonstrates his modular

exactly. some of the hate is a bit ridiculous, do people really think he'd be where he is now if he didn't know what he was doing? I can see why someone who's first introduction to him is via these videos or his interviews would think he's an idiot.

Re: Deadmau5 demonstrates his modular

Ok, I'll bite.

I'll begin by stating that I'm actually a big fan of Joel's music. However it's painfully obvious that he barely knows the modules he's got here, likely due to the fact that constant touring means he has a lot of money and not much time to use what he spends it on. It's definitely tempting to to pass judgement on that, but I also recognize that I would probably do exactly the same thing in his situation, because I already do that; I've got 9Us of modules that I've barely scratched the surface of, because I'm too busy working, and I have trouble resisting the temptation to buy the newest shiny. The main thing that's holding me back is a somewhat limited budget, which is clearly not the case for Joel....

Regarding this particular video, do note that BOTH the macbeth modules are filters; he's already got a pair of MacBeth oscs in another case. That might also give some insight into why he's got every new module in this case; he's got another two cases with all the other modules, more or less.

Re: The Secret to Motivation

Amazing. I know a fair bit of money I've made performing came from Benson & Hedges, before they tightened up the laws to prevent tobacco advertising .

Re: Some ebay stuff

Goodbye miniwave, hello piston honda?

Re: 2009 Ruby survey results

Until very recently I'd been using observers to send email, as it stuck me as the best place to put them; the extra testing hoops it makes me do convinced me to stick them in controllers, which now makes the most sense to me.

Re: Carly Simon: Playing Possum

Wow, what an amazing cover, front and back.
