Of course there are double standards. This whole country is based on double standards. So it's not just on a local level, it's nation wide at every level of government. It's all right to question a double standard. There is nothing wrong with that. Also, to Andi, why must we have compassion expressing opinions in a newspaper? The freedom of speech gives us all the right to write what ever kind of comment we want to. Good, bad or indifferent we have the right to express ourselves in any way we wish. I saw nothing negative written about the Botill family. Also, how can one change things if a single issue is not addressed. I believe most things are handled one issue at a time. Please don't tell people how they should write when writing letters to the editor.

I also forgot to add. Deputy Sheriff's have their medical paid for them when they retire. Gilroy police officers do not. I mean full coverage. So believe the city of Gilroy would be charged for that. Aslo, as someone stated the Deputy Sheriff's Association is a whole lot bigger than GPOA. So get rid of one union to get a bigger one. Mmmmm sounds like pretzel logic, all twisted.

To YoungOne I'm sure the Sheriff's department response times will be longer as they have more area to cover and patrol. They could be at Castro Valley Road on a call and the get a call to go Estates Drive. Both places in Gilroy but quite a way away from each other. So I would get the Sherrif's department has lomger response times.

The world is still so uptight when it comes to marijuana. Even though they were told that they couldn't open up a business in town, they did anyway. Now are you telling me that a non-profit doesn't need a business license to operate a business in town. That answer should already be known by the people who issue the licenses to do business in the city of Gilroy. Let's go people get with it.

Does anyone really believe that the council, the mayor or the Mr. Hag Lund care about the morale of city employees? For if they truly cared, they would have been concerned about long before now.

As for Rosco, You the private citizens are paying higher taxes. Do you think that government employees are not paying the same taxes? As for pensions. Just remember people worked many years paying into pensions. Maybe you should have chose another line of work. Then you wouldn't be crying now. Don't fault other people because they made choices early on to take government jobs for a better retirement down the road. Look at all the pigs in the public sector that rip-off people and companies all the time. As for the government, when has it ever been different? As for our current President, just look at how the government has grown since he came into office. Do you really believe our government will ever slow down or reduce itself in size? Wake up from your dream.

Grow up and act your age.

As for the mayor. Employees understand that the council must make tough decisions when it comes to budget cuts. Is that why the dispatch ran a poll to see if the citizens of Gilroy would like to contract with the Sheriff's department for police services? Do you have more cuts in mind. Maybe the police department and the police department employees? Look how much money the city could save. Is that the plan?

But just like the lay-offs and the cut backs. Nothing personal just business. Where does this council get off thinking one, they should be invited, two, they have clearly created a seperation between themselves and all city employees. This year it was just a pot-luck. So I guess the city council was SOL. The council better realize they have a bunch of pissed off people now working at the city. Thanks to a council that doesn't seen to care. Also, I can't believe their feelings are hurt. I haven't seen them display any kind of feelings in a long time.

Mr. Lalor, where do you think the people causing the problems are coming from? Look at not all but some of the scumbags living at that apartment complex. A number of the people living there shouldn't be. It's kind of like mice and rats. Once you get them they are very hard to get rid off. Kind of like some of the scumbags living at the sobrato apartments.

I don't see why the Oliveri's have to put up with this crap. Maybe Sal junior should confront them next time with a 45. That will get their attention.

Bracco makes it sound like they are the only one's who work hard. Also, who cares if Bracco gives his employees a raise? That's nhis business. How can these people justify laying off people, make other employees take furlough days and then give these people raises. Mr. RLK. How can you even start to believe that CPS has anything to do with scumbags that aren't raised properly by their parents. These problems started long ago when they were babies. As these children grew up the parents did their job less and less. I've known many parents who have raised fine upstanding children. None of them abused their kids. You can raise good kids without having to abuse them. So I am wondering how or why you even brought CPS into this issue. Remember these kids tell their parents what to do it's not the other way around. Parents need to be strong. So I guess it's plain to see there are a lot of weak parents out their having and raising kids.

PS RLK I'm still waiting to see the GPOA and Mr. Zappa joining forces to recall the mayor. That one you really blew...and were so far off base it is really funny. I am now convinced more then ever that you have no idea what the hell you're talking about.
