So right now my store (a 34k/week store open from 5:30-10) is stuck with a SM, ASM, 3 shifts, and 8 baristas. We all working +40, overtime if we want it, and we still have phantom shifts. Its crazy.
Since my district manager had the freeze over hiring/promoting I'm still a barista. In NOVEMBER, I went through all of the training to become a shift. I was waiting for my district manager to approve me to take my shift supervisor class, while (with out her knowing it) I was running shifts. Then after leading me on and not telling my manager or me what was going on she said that there was a freeze on any promotions.
Other DMs didn't follow the freeze, and I've watched 2 shifts get transferred into out store. One of which talks out of his ass and was an external hirer from home depot who's shifts I had to run along with some good baristas for the first few months. Its very frustrating, but my old store manager apparently put my shift raise in... so... as frustrating as it is, I don't know if I should be complaining. That answer your question?

Re: There are a few customers who are truly legendary. legendary for be ridiculously stupid.

i'm sorry that I offended you or anyone else. And then after the verse chorus once more, the strings then come in and it escalates, and then comes back down with the wind and harmonies. the whole thing is just such a beautiful contemporary composition.

Re: 147xxxx - a starbucks barista blog

i knew he was bullshitting me, but we were slow enough where applying the just say yes policy wouldn't bother anyone else. & the latte was more expensive than the berry chai

Re: 147xxxx - a starbucks barista blog

haha totally, except for i think my hair fros out a bit more :)

Re: On Friday, there was enough excitement in one hour for my whole eight hour shift.

don't feel bad - you aren't the first! i don't know why people think i'm a dude. maybe it a result of the sad fact that guys are usually the ones recognized as being funny. or maybe i just write super masculine.
but thanks for saying I'm awesome :)

Re: Weird Customer #1

ah, i totally got that bit, but yeah, weird. if someone gave me a tony the tiger theeeeeyy're great, i would probably think it was a bit weird :)

Re: Weird Customer #1

LOVE IT. honestly, the random weirdness totally makes my night

Re: Streeter Seidell

i love everything about this.

Re: I dug this up randomly just now and yep, still hilarious

actually, a few are missing. never mind!

Re: I dug this up randomly just now and yep, still hilarious

Oh English teachers, where's number 19?!
18 was my fav

Re: THE JIG IS UP.
